Phone and voice services that happen over the internet without requiring a user to use traditional ‘copper wire’ phone lines. Many international calls are routed over VOIP to reduce the transport cost of the call. Services like Google Voice and Skype use VOIP to connect to the telephone network and allow their users to make calls.
