TRANSCRIPT

Can you please introduce yourself and what you do?

I am Ali Janjua. I am the CEO of work. We are lead providers for the insurance business. So Medicare final expense You 65 ACA. We work with a number of brand names, a number of agencies, a number of carriers and provide live transfers that convert very highly with low CPAs and 100% compliant.

Can you tell us about your company?

So the company started five years ago. We started with eight people. We’ve now built it up to over 1000 employees. In the past five years, we’ve seen tremendous growth. It’s the first three years, just like any startup, was a real struggle. The company wasn’t making money, but we pushed through and ultimately we were focused on delivering delivering a quality product, 100% compliant, high conversions, low CPAs. My goal in the business is to take care of our customers. You take care of your customers. You’re going to be in business for a long time. You know, the biggest thing for us has been creating jobs back in Pakistan. That is where we are based. We do have branch locations in the U.S., but primarily we have a huge workforce in Pakistan.

What are some skills required to be successful in your industry?

Well, the number one skill for me in any business to be successful is persistency. In business, you’re never going to have a straight road. It’s always going to be a roller coaster. So those who are able to adjust to the downs are the ones who are going to be end up who are going to end up being successful long term.

What does Work mean to you?

Work for me is a way for us to change people’s lives. Back home in Pakistan, there’s not a lot of job opportunity and this exposure that we get from corporate America, we’re able to create jobs back home that help change people’s lives. And that to me is the closest thing to my heart. You see, people will not remember how much money I make or you make or anybody else makes. It’s what you do for other people. So, yes, we’re a business. Yes, we’re in it to make money, but mostly we’re in it to change people’s lives. And that’s what we’re doing for our people back home in Pakistan.

Anything else you would like to add?

Well, the one thing I will tell people is I started working when I was 17. I had to drop out of school. I could not afford to finish my education. My first job, I was making $60 a month and Alhamdulillah, where I am today and this is my belief that if you work hard, you don’t give up and you keep going. No matter what comes your way, you can achieve whatever you want to. But you got to believe in yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself, you can’t expect anybody else to believe in you. And so I share my journey with people that we, having started off as a 17 year old kid, new to the industry, from earning $60 a month to running a company that’s over a thousand employees. It looks like a dream, but dreams require sacrifice. And if you’re ready to sacrifice, you can fulfill all your dreams.
